About Us

The Fatherhood Challenge is a collaboration of Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center, MN Adult & Teen Challenge, and Lakes Area Restorative Justice Project.

Our Mission: To equip fathers and fathers-to-be in our community with educational fatherhood classes and courses.

Why This Program?

Fatherhood Educational Opportunities

So many people have had childhood experiences that negatively affect their well-being. If not addressed, these experiences can be repeated from generation to generation.

We identified this need and came together to do something about it. The Fatherhood Challenge was developed to meet this need through Weekend Events and Challenger Courses.

The Facts

Did you know that 18.4 million children, 1 in 4, live without a father in the home, whether it be biological, step, or adoptive?

Our community has many men who are fathers, but haven't had the guidance or role modeling on how to be a great dad. Sadly, there is a significant lack of fatherhood educational opportunities in our region and across the country to address this problem. Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center, Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge, and Lakes Area Restorative Justice Project are collaborating to provide these opportunities in our area.

Who Is The Fatherhood Challenge For?

The Fatherhood Challenge is for all fathers and fathers-to-be who want to increase their knowledge on how to be a great father.

For those that reside in the Brainerd Lakes area including Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena Counties.

The Fatherhood Challenge Involves Two Components:

Special Weekend Events that consist of great speakers covering a wide range of topics that challenge men to grow.

Challenger Courses are made up of 9 courses that are offered 3 times  a year across the region being served. Topics include relationships with children, financial resiliency, managing emotions, and other topics that are designed to challenge fathers.
